Help for Students>Downloading & Printing Downloading & Printing The following are directions for printing and downloading articles from online library databases or from the Web. Please check with your particular library before printing or downloading information as procedures and regulations may vary.
Once a usable magazine or journal article is located on an online library database or on the Web, it is possible to print either the full-text article, if available, or the citation. To print, click on the Print button on the Netscape tool bar at the top of the screen. When the drop-down menu, appears, click on OK. Sometimes articles are short but other articles can run to a hundred pages or more. In order to determine how long an article is, click on File at the top of the screen on the Menu Bar and select Print Preview . An image of the article will appear. Look at the bottom left corner of the first image to determine the length of the article. If only a few pages are required, rather than the whole article, it is possible to select a page range (ex. 1 to 5) in the Print drop-down menu. If the article is very long, downloading the article onto a disk is a good alternative to printing the entire article. The instructions on this page explain how to download articles from online library databases or Web pages.
