24/7 A Library Research Guide and Webletter

ABOUT 24/7

The purpose of 24/7 is to support and complement class assignments and personal interests that require research in using an academic library and academic resources on the web. Here you will find search strategies, research tips, and effective techniques for researching like a pro with links to the best the Oakton Library and the web have to offer.

Every effort is made to keep 24/7 timely, accurate and pertinent. This is accomplished by applying the criteria for evaluating information recommended by the American Library Association and included in their Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education.

It is hoped that you enjoy 24/7 and find it useful...it's designed with you in mind. Spread the word about 24/7...tell a friend!

Special thanks to...
Judith Mayzel, Professor Emerita of Library Services, creator of 24/7.
Sandra Wittman, Professor Emerita of Library Services, and
Margo Anargyros, computer savvy student and teacher, for taking 24/7 to the Fall 2001 finish line.

Jessica Lee, Information Technology Specialist, Oakton Community College, for the redesign of 24/7 from 2002 through 2004 academic years.

The site is now maintained by Oakton Community College librarians.
