Oakton Chapters

Welcome to the Homepage of the Oakton Amnesty International (OAI) local chapter, and of the Oakton Students of Amnesty International (OSAI).  Amnesty International is a worldwide movement that works to promote all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international standards.  The following link has more information about our goals and purposes.  Our local efforts take place through two complementary organizational structures, which coordinate their efforts and work together to help promote human rights both here in the U. S. and around the world.
        1.  The local chapter, OAI, welcomes all faculty, staff, and community residents in the Oakton Community College district.  (Students should instead join OSAI below.)  We are affiliated as a local chapter with the national Amnesty International organization.
        2.  The Oakton Students of Amnesty International (OSAI) is an official student club at Oakton Community College, and is also affiliated as a student
chapter with the national Amnesty organization.  To take advantage of the benefits associated with being an official student club, students enrolled in Oakton classes are encouraged to join and participate in this student chapter, which works in a full and equal cooperative partnership with the local chapter.

Meeting Times:        OSAI will hold meetings roughly once a month.                        Membership Information and How to Join
     The next meeting is:        TBA
