Objectives

2. Describe the different types of nursing education programs.
3. List the roles of the nursing and settings for nursing care.
4. Discuss the value of providing to service to others as part of the learning process.
5. Identify the purpose of Standards of Nursing Practice.
6. Explain the function of nursing organizations.
7. Discuss the ANA Code for Nurses.
8. Describe the Patient’s Bill of Rights.

Clinical Assignment

1.  Review the policy and procedure manuals at  your assigned clinical agency to determine: 
a.  how the role of the RN is defined 
b.  how the role & responsibilities of the RN differ from that of the LPN & CNA. 
 

2.  Identify how clients at your assigned facility  are informed of their rights. 

3.  Interview selected clients & staff as to their perceptions of their roles & rights.
